Meet Our Staff

Dr. Hanson is the owner of the St. Anthony Eye Clinic, a position he has held since April 1995. Originally hailing from southern Minnesota, Dr. Hanson pursued his academic journey with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Minnesota State University - Mankato. He furthered his education at the University of Missouri - St. Louis School of Optometry, graduating with high honors in 1993. After gaining experience in North Branch and Sandstone, MN, Dr. Hanson settled in St. Anthony in 1995, where he has since become an integral part of the community. With a strong commitment to philanthropy, Dr. Hanson actively gives back through various avenues. He has been a dedicated member of the St. Anthony Kiwanis Club since 1995, even serving as its President in 2005. The clinic received the prestigious "Business of the Year" award from the St. Anthony Chamber of Commerce in 2003. Recognized for his leadership in restoring and preserving sight, Dr. Hanson was honored with the Helen Keller Sight Award by the St. Anthony Lions Club. In addition to his community involvement, Dr. Hanson has made significant contributions to local governance, serving over 8 years on the St. Anthony planning commission following nomination by the city council. Furthermore, the clinic actively supports Optometry Giving Sight on an international scale. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Hanson finds joy in family life with his wife Heidi and their son, Matthew. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time on the north shore, attending MN State-Mankato football and hockey games, indulging in music, and cherishing moments spent with his loved ones.

Dr. Anthony Doffin, a native of Highland, Indiana, pursued his academic journey at Indiana University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1999. He continued his education at the Indiana University School of Optometry, graduating with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2004. During his tenure at IUSO, Dr. Doffin demonstrated leadership as the President of the IUSO Student Association, advocating for the field of optometry at local and national levels. Before joining the St. Anthony Eye Clinic, Dr. Doffin gained extensive experience in corporate optometry, notably spending the last 17 years at two Walmart Vision Centers in Blaine, MN. Specializing in primary care optometry, he excels in fitting contact lenses, providing post-operative care, and managing and treating eye diseases. Dr. Doffin remains an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Minnesota Optometric Association (MOA). He contributed significantly to the MOA, serving on its Board of Trustees for nine years, culminating in his presidency in 2019. Residing in Blaine with his wife, who is also an optometrist, and their four children, Dr. Doffin values family life. In his leisure time, he enthusiastically shuttles his children to various activities, including school, hockey, dance, baseball, and soccer, all while managing to squeeze in occasional rounds of golf. A devoted sports fan, Dr. Doffin relishes attending hockey and baseball games whenever his busy schedule permits.
