The
OPTOmap® Retinal Exam is a simple procedure. It
allows Dr. Hanson to examine the inside and back area
of your eye, known as the retina. The sensitive tissue
that makes up the retina is susceptible to a variety
of diseases that could lead to partial or complete vision
loss. In less than a second, with a click of a button,
this instrument non-invasively generates a high-resolution,
digital, color image. This image becomes a part of your
permanent medical record at St. Anthony Eye Clinic and
will enable us to enhance the digital image to see more
of your retina, measure aspects of your eye, and magnify
the finer details. It will also allow Dr. Hanson to
track changes in your eye over time. This will lead
to early detection of any retinal abnormality, which
is critical in maintaining your ocular and systemic
health. In some cases of eye disease, you will not experience
any signs or symptoms.
With
the OPTOmap wellness screening, you will experience
the benefits of the latest technology St Anthony Eye
Clinic has to offer for your primary eye care.
